I am not able to play games as I have installed a new graphic card?

I have installed a new graphic card "ATI RADEON 256 MB GRAPHIC CARD". My configuration is 2.4 ghz P4, mercury motherboard 845, 256 mb ram. i have installed apropriate drivers also. but there is an error while playing high graphic games such as GTA San Andreas, NFS Carbon etc. as No valid rendering code path detected.

plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help.........

ITS AGP, I DID NOT UNINSTALL THE OLD DRIVERS, HOW CAN I CHECK IT.

my graphic is not being detected. i have checked it dxdiag it shows 64 the inbuild one. help

    Did you uninstall the old video card drivers before installing the new video card and drivers? you may be having a driver conflict with the older video drivers interfering with the games you are playing.

    Is your video card an AGP or PCI? Check your bios settings on your motherboard to see which bus ([pci] or [agp] the motherboard is looking for to initialize your video card. If it is an agp card, make sure the timing is set correctly, ([2x], [4x], [8x]) and that the video card is compatable with your motherboard to produce the appropriate speeds.

    Also, make sure if it is an agp, that you have the agp chipset drivers installed as well.
