Has the Civil war lie been told enough to make it seem factual?
In an earlier question, answers ignored the evidence and repeated the propaganda:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai_xt...
Even as the Democrats try to pretend that retreat is an option, and that we could significantly draw down troops if we restricted our mission to fighting al Qaeda, Petraeus notes:
"Iraq is, in fact, the central front of al Qaeda's global campaign and we devote considerable resources to the fight against al Qaeda Iraq."
Oh, and what's more:
"We do definitely see links to the greater al Qaeda network. . . . There is no question but that there is a network that supports the movement of foreign fighters through Syria into Iraq. . . . The Iranian involvement has really become much clearer to us . . ."
Finally,
"Typically, in fact, still we believe that, oh, 80 percent to 90 percent of the suicide attacks are carried out by foreigners."

To call the situation in Iraq a total civil war is either ignorance or a complete and willful ignoring of history.
Plus, you have to understand that libs don't care WHAT general Petreas has to' say.... Doesn't matter that he was unanimously confirmed by the members of the senate, dems and Repubs alike. And what's more, it doesn't matter to them that their leaders regularly miss military briefings FROM the general, instead holding to their rhetoric that they've developed in their cushy D.C. offices.
So yeah... if you repeat a lie long enough, it starts to sound true... unless you've done the research for yourself. It's called argumentium ad nauseam.

Iraq is NOW the central front for al Qaeda, but we created that. When we first invaded Iraq there was no al Qaeda there, they moved there to fight us. In a way we created al Qaeda in Iraq.
Of course they see links to a larger al Qaeda network moving in from Iran and Syria we have known that for years. We understood that when I was in Iraq in 2003, why is it a surprise to you? Have you not heard the international media say that we have created a breeding ground for terrorists in Iraq, they are shipped in from all over the Middle East to fight us in Iraq. They receive front line training, something the terrorists have not had the privilege of participating in since Afghanistan and Soviets stopped fighting.
Finally
80-90% of SUICIDE attacks, not attacks in general if you actually looked up the stats you would find that over 60% of Iraqi citizens consider it to be OK to attack American troops(NPR). I think the difference might be that Iraqi's aren't, on a large scale, keen on the suicide idea they would rather live to fight us another day, not blow themselves up. They are fighting for their country, they are fighting so their families and friends can live without watching us degrade their cuture. So that they can form a government how they want to, they do not see it as we do. They think that the government that is in place was set up by Western Powers, not by them the citizens. They are fighting for their daily rights and privilege's, they are fighting so they can form the country that they want, not the country that we want. Therefore they are not going to blow themeselves up because they know if they do that they will not get to see us leave and them the citizens of Iraq get their country back.
When I left Iraq in 2003 the Iraqi citizens were
already asking us when we were going to leave so that they could have their country back. They thought we only came to Iraq to take Saddam away and then give them back their country, that is what they are mad about. We have not done that, we took Saddam out and OCCUPIED their country, that is why they are mad.
As for the civil war, that is just ignorant to think it does not exist and is a lie. Turn off Fox News and open up the newspaper, any newspaper. When you have citizen Sunni and Shi'ite's fighting each other every day, the Iraqi people finding dozens of new bodies that have been executed and tortured on the streets everyday, when you have them blowing up each others mosques, each others houses, and their own police stations everyday how can you seriously think that there is not a civil war.
That is the most outrageous line of horsesh*t I have ever heard or read. You take progaganda to a whole new extreme, I don't know where you heard that or what little fairy came and whispered that in your ear, but I am sorry to say that you are sadly misinformed and you need to educate yourself before you try opening your big mouth.

Sweetie...you will never convince those who say there is a civil war of anything different.
Maybe we should just listen to the 'government' of Iraq...they say there is no civil war in Iraq....I would tend to think the people running THAT country would know the facts about it.
But....that requires an independent though process to not just listen to the crap that the US media dribbles out all day.
There's that research idea again....do independent research and there's a lot out there that people just don't know!

Enough already, nuke everyone who doesn't kiss George W. Bush's @ss and get it over with. Democrats are not the problem, morons who still support the neocon elitists who exploit them and everyone else are almost as big a problem as the vampires feeding off Bush's illegal war. Stop the insanity, get out of Iraq and deal with the fact that China owns our monetary system, the European Union owns our industrial economic base and the neocons have sold out the entire U.S.A. for a pot of blood soaked gold. The U. S. is a memory, stop acting like it matters what happens in the Middle East, our problems are Domestic, not foreign, and the majority of the 300 million people in the U.S. are not involved in big business.
