How can one fight anger........?

As we all know that life is getting faster day by day and we at somewhere are not able to cope with this growth, which results in lots of anger in us. This anger then comes out every time you encountered with something that you feel is wrong or irritated. I feel that 95% of the genration is suffering from this problem of short tempering. Everybody wish to tackel this problem and want to lead a normal and peacefull life but only few of them make efforts for this. So I like your point of views, which may be usefull for all the readers.

You're blaming growth as a source of your anger? Personal growth is something to be happy about. I don't follow your logic. Resistance to change may cause irritation, but that doesn't necessarily equal a short temper either.

I feel contributing factors to this generation "short tempering" is growing up with a lifestyle of instant gratification, junk-food diets, too much viewing of violence, broken family relationships, chemical abuse, lack of self discipline, too many news broadcasts that multiply peoples anxiety levels which lead to feelings of hopelessness as well.

Great question, I used to be one of the people with very very short tempers. I won't say it's 100% gone, but maybe 75% gone. How did I deal with anger? Zen meditation, reading about Christianity, emphasizing more on what's right in the world rather than what's wrong. We all know what "the right thing to do is" but more times than not, we don't do it. You are capable and adult enough to understand what is right and wrong. Once you start doing what's right in your daily activities, you automatically feel liberated, and this makes you happier as a result. Good luck.

Fighting anger is like drawing with an invisible pen. Who's gonna see the results? And, it would just be frustrating.

There is a method called cognitive intervention. Simply put, the more you THINK, the less you FEEL. That is why we count to ten to calm down.

Many of us just need to realize that getting angry doesn't solve anything. Thinking about a solution is the best way to overcome anger.

you do not fight anger... you let it out of your system or let it go...

People get angry, because they do not know how to do this... or even prevent anything from happening like that... short tempered people have forgotten the age-old way of sitting on a rock and taking in everything about nature... retreating when your energies are almost depleted and return anew to a fresh start... ;-) Having the inner peace... and calm... and focus... to concentrate on the real problems not inconveniences...

no money to buy food - inconvenience

dying because of malnutrition - problem

got a lot of words from the boss - inconvenience

    you have cancer - problem

people get angry with small inconveniences... not the real problems... they act on them... ;-)

its simple- i am getting control over it just by fighting it with calmness. its a process which one has to adapt and continuously try.

    its not one day affair.

c, if u have a liking towards any good dish- for example icecream- and if u want to avoid it u should try to ignore ur thoughts whenever they arise. slowly u will come out of that habit, but if u pamper the same thought and pick up one u will never be able to avoid it.

many people try various methods like yoga, meditation, cool atmosphere walking etc, but once they fall into thier world they forget that they r doing that most important morning job for being calm the whole day.

its just out of practise people can achieve fighting anger.

very simple, love everyone as you love yourself. anger comes when anyone is not happy with someone....and when they are not satisfied with what they have... we have to do our duty perfectly and should not expect others to do the same... they have their own better part to do..

To tackle this problem, take things in the right sense and in sportive way too... analyze problems in a calm way and not with agitation, thinking that something very strange is going to happen... But for sure anything that happens is within our control....

Keep in mind that every entry has an exit... and every problem has a solution... so friends stop worrying over situations and get ready to tackle the problem in a sportive way and with positive thinking..

    Learn to relax.

Surround yourself with gentle music instead of rap and heavy metal.

Spend some time in a forest. See that everything works there. Try to get in synch with its pulse.

Have to courage you set your own pace through life, not mindlessly follow the lemming crowd.
