What is the possible cause of gas leak?

The last time we had a full tank, we did not encounter this. But before this one, the gas overflowed? Is there a possible cause of this? This morning, the car's engine was not running, parked at the garage, there were drops of gas from somewhere, which flowed to the rear tire. And smell of gas.

I asked the gas station to check the car but said they cannot trace it since the gas already evaporated.

Know any way to check where the leak is? Thanks for your serious answers :)

Get the car out of the garage! Now start engine and get out and look under car. If you see a leak turn off engine immediately! Call a wrecker and have it taken to the shop and repaired.

The only other reason I can think of is you just filled your tank and you parked your car in the garage. The fuel expanded from the warmth of the garage and caused it to overflow a little.

Have the vehicle put on a lift by someone that has a brain, check the complete fuel system from the tank to the injectors.

Most likely it could be the filler tube and or the vent, also gas tank, lines, injectors, o-rings and so on, but get it checked as soon as possible.

Could be a rusty gas tank with a small hole on top so if u topped it off then gas could have sloshed out. This could be the issue or could be gas lines which should be replaced every once in a while.

If the gas filler tube is on that side, it might be a hole in the filler tube. Might be a hole in the gas tank (maybe from rust). Might be a hole in a gas line. Could be a faulty gas filter.
