    First and for most you need to want to. if you do not want to 100% you wont or will have a hard time. Cold turkey is the best way.Withdrawl is not easy and can last days or months. Take a gram vitamin c every couple hours to help with withdrawls. Do you have a significant other? If so you both need to stop or it will be harer for just you . Try to stay away from others who smoke until you your self have been withdrawl free.

    Some say gradually and like with the patch or something like that and some say cold turkey. If I were you I would talk to a doctor about this and see what they advise and can help you with. Also when you are quitting DO NOT hang around other people who smoke or are smoking as it is way to tempting to pick up a cigarette at that time and you would fall back and have to start all over again and that would not be fun. Good luck to you and i hope you can kick the habit of smoking soon!

    Slow doesn't work cold turkey is the way to go if your serious if your not then there is no way to stop . it takes around a year to really get over it . Every time your around somebody that smokes you going to want one every time you drink a coffee or a beer or eat you going to want one . Its going to be hard but that's the only way to go and don't go around anybody smoking for a good 2 months don't even smell it because the craving starts over again . Good luck

    Something the American Lung Association won't tell you is to drink citrus juice for two weeks straight, and it will knock the need for nicotine right out of your system.

    The way I quit was cold turkey. It was a contest between me and the smokes. So I put a fresh pack of cigs, the ashtray and lighter in front of me. Those were the enemy. And every hour I didn't light up, it was a small victory for me. Now it's been almost 20 years smoke free and I couldn't be happier.

    I am on and off smoker, is hard especially when you enjoy it!!!!! best to do it with the patch.. that is how I quit but then i start again.. like i said is hard when you enjoy smoking but we all know the consequences and the dangers is better to try to stop than to die doing it and never try to quit.. I feel for all of us. But it's up to us when we are ready we can do it. best to stay optimistic. Good luck.

    The only way, is to make your mind up that this is what you really want to do and then do it...whether it's cold turkey or using patches, gum, etc.

    The mind is a powerful tool. If you're not ready to give up, nothing in the world is going to help.

    Have a handy supply of mint candy or mint gum. Whenever the urge to light a ciggie kicks in, chew gum or eat candy. That is how my older brother did it.

    Remember also that the urge is in the mind. So keep your mind off it. When u survive hour, aim for surviving 1 day. when u survive one day, you won't feel the urge anymore the second day.

  • i quit smoking 7 years ago .. what u do is break them in half flush them and then get rid of the box .. thats what i did and it worked ..
