I've met a teacher before, but the only weird part about it is that my mother was also with me. Next minute I knew, the teacher is explaining to my mother how I could do better in my schoolwork, and how I had a lot of " discipline problems". For me, the encounter wasn't just weird, it was embarrassing.

True, it is weird but it's a memory that you'll have. It kinda privatizes your teacher/student relationship. I still remember running into my teachers in the grocery/clothing stores and now I look forward to running into my students. After all, teachers are people too.Did you say hello?

yes, I see one of my old teacher in the store just about every time I go there, we just say hi and chit chat for a sec. then go on with what we were doing. I also see people that I work with and we sit and have conversations and get in the way LOL.

Yes. It's awfully awkward. Especially when you're with folks that talk about their straight A child with bad grammar.

Most teachers go to the next town to shop or dine out.... they are as uncomfortable as we are in that situation.....
Co-workers? No big deal... it happens.

I saw my son's kindergarten teacher out a bar once...THAT was weird, cuz I was like, "shouldn't she be at home, planning lessons, instead of out clubbing?"
