I downloaded a thing that will allow them to be read on my puter but when I try to type in the document it does'nt happen. I can click on the line and it's acknowledged . I need advice. I really don't want to pay for something in order to do something that pertains to work.

Try Open Office. It's an open system (free) software suite.

    Hi - couple of suggestions.

    1. Save the excel file in another format to work with any software that you may have.

    2. Try one of the open source free office suites such as the one you can find at http://www.openoffice.org/ - this can read and save excel / word format etc.

    3. Try a service such as the one you will find at

http://logmein.com./ You may need approval & or assistance from work so that you can access your work pc from home and it may not be the fastest method if you don't have at least cable internet connection at both pc's.

    4. Look into MS licensing - if I recall there is a method whereby you can install a second copy on a notebook or home pc with your work licence.

    Hope it helps

(First link.) Use my 2d link to confirm in case your college qualifies for the $80 acquire (or $one hundred with media) of Microsoft place of work professional Plus 2010. in case you do not extremely favor Microsoft be conscious and PowerPoint, OpenOffice is loose. that is truly merely as solid in case you do not extremely favor the Microsoft classes.

You could try OpenOffice by SunJava. I do not know about the compatibility but my friends assume that it works both ways.
