Your thoughts on this violation of YA?
I have recieved a violation notice from YA.
I have written them for further explanation but I am wondering if anyone from here could shed some light on the subject for me. Here is a copy of the email I sent them which has the question in it.
Also do you think I will actually get a response?
I have recieved a violation notice email on the following question listed in Polls and Surveys:
"Deleted Question: About to die soon would you....?
Question Details: try any drugs? I think if I get a death sentence from cancer or something similar I would definetly smoke pot again, but I think I would try some X and some shrooms. I figure Im gonna die anyway so who cares if its from an overdose right? How bout you? Any drug you would like to try?"
Please explain to me how this is a violation. I have reviewed your guidlines and the only thing I can find that even may relate to a violation is
"Post content that violates federal, state, or local law." because obviously taking drugs is against all laws. Yet the last time I checked discussing whether one would not take drugs or not is not a violation of the law. I think in fact I have the ability to walk up to a law enforcement officer and tell him or her "If I ever get cancer I am going to try some shrooms"
and legally I have not broken any laws.
Polls and surveys is an area where the answer is most likely to be that of an opinion. I asked the question to gain opinions on the subject and I feel as I asked it in the correct catergory.
Any insight as to this violation would be appreciated.
Thank you

Sorry, but the "interpretation" of those quidelines is very subjective. ANY mention of drugs and the taking of them as being acceptable might be interpreted as advocating an illegal action and therefore be reported. Remember, it is the USERS of the site that do the reporting and many of them are extremely strict in their interpretations.
As to the email, I understand that there is seldom a direct response, and that if there is, it is liable to be some variant of a "form letter" type of email. You may a bit of better luck if you report to the blue FORUM link at the top right of the Yahoo Answers page under Wrongful Violations. At least there, they are supposed to post a response (on the Forum, not directly to you) within 48 hours.

I do think that it depends on how one interprets the user codes of behavior. Any mention of drugs puts that question in the either or category.
I got a violation notice and thought it was wrongful. I email back to yahoo explaining my case. They did listen and emailed me back. Think you did have the right category.

Moderating a communicate board like this takes an excellent variety of time, and time is funds. it may take many a lot of people to examine disputes, to choose, to make judgements. Yahoo is in agency to make a income. i think of what Yahoo does is everybody who's gathered x-variety of proceedings is in basic terms dumped. on the different hand, they might't in basic terms enable people positioned up in spite of they pick. an excellent variety of people could take benefit. Anonymity makes people much extra ambitious approximately racist comments, smears, call callings, etc.etc. For a communicate board like this to truly artwork could require various volunteer moderators (a huge extensive variety). And somebody could even ought to holiday herd on the moderators, making helpful they are in straight forward terms following the policies and not exhibiting bias. it is accessible yet no longer likely. i replaced into 'suspended' some weeks in the past. They in no way advised me what for. They in no way advised me how long (yet i'm nevertheless no longer unsuspended so i'm guessing it is everlasting). My wager is that people of the different political persuasion flagged all my solutions interior the political components in basic terms because of fact they disagreed with me. it is the form of complications you have with inadequate moderation. My reaction replaced into to create yet another account and flow at it returned below a diverse call.

Here's the real problem: you may honestly not be in violation.
You have someone who applies the rules too tightly or just wants to tick you off, thus, the violation report
