This could get fun - are we headed towards a Democrtic Civil War?
Pundits have spent endless hours discussing the ways that the Iraq war has been hurting Republicans politically. But as this piece in the Washington Post today suggests, Democrats may have their own political headaches.
There's a split in the presidential field over how aggressively to challenge the president. Notably, Clinton and Obama favor less confrontation than do the other candidates, no doubt casting a weather eye toward the general election. It will be interesting to see how much this debate strains the unity Democrats are striving for in the run up to the '08 election.
And it's worth pointing out that there's a decent chance that, if both Obama and clinton continue on the less extreme course, John Edwards could wind up as the Democratic nominee.

Highly unlikely because Democrats:
1) Ar never civil
&
2) don't support ANY war.

Clinton and Obama favor less confrontation? I'm not sure where they are getting that from, as everything I have read about Obama and Clinton has been about them slamming Bush's policies. They certainly did not shy away from it in the debate.

I guess it would be one of the better things that happens to their party, that is ....... it would be their chance to show the world that Dem's have the balls to fight when backed into a corner. It is just a sad sad sad commentary on their organization that they are willing to fight and EAT their own and then rally for or defend the true terrorists because they are misunderstood or even worse, ~**gasp**~, a minority!. Politics is so much fun, isn't it?
PS: Thanks for all of the well wishes ... it is nice to know you are missed. It is nice to "see" you and I hope you are well! ;)

Of course they are in competition for the white house and of course they are in competition with each other. Edwards is fast becoming a favorite in the south.

Don't get too pleased. Let me quote Will Rogers over 70 years ago: "I don't belong to any organized political party-- I'm a Democrat."
Same as it ever was.

You're dreaming. If there is a civil war, it'll be just that. A civil one. No one will be shot or killed.
