Several ways. I'll start with the easiest:

    1. Flash drive (aka thumb drive, pen drive)

    2. External Hard drive

    3. Crossover cable (if both have network/ethernet adapters) - *Set up a network by assigning IP addresses, gateway and subnet mask. Make sure they are in the same workgroup. And set up a shared folder.

    4. Use a hub/switch or router: same as number 3, but will have greater capacity for a larger network.

you have more than an option,

If you have a NIC (Network Interface Card) in both the laptop and the PC, you can connect them by an Ethernet cable and transfer what ever files you want with a very good speed (speed of the processor)

Or you can get an external hard desk and drop the files on it then move it to your laptop,

confident, you're able to do this numerous procedures: initially you may burn the records to a CD (i'm guessing your songs laptop has a CD burner). Secondly you ought to use a memory stick reckoning on the report sizes your coping with. Thirdly in case you have a house community you may placed all the records onto the shared community and basically drag and drop onto your sons new laptop. those are the three undemanding a thank you to do it, failing this you will get utility and connection leads which will do an automatic flow for you.

That will be easy. There are alot of ways. 1)Use external hard drive. 2)Use thumb drive. 3)use transfer cable. However, if you want to transfer software, use transfer kit as software, such as games or microsoft office, cannot be transfer by the 3 ways.

You might consider setting up google accounts for e-mail and word processing and excel spreadsheets. That way you can just log on to share your files. Another thing I have done for critical files in Microsft excel is to e-mail them to my other computer. Pin drives can be handy, as can external Hard Drives ... but require more work than just creating a gmail account.

You can buy a cable that plugs into your usb port and then it will give you the option of transferring everything. Or you can buy an external hard drive to transferr everyhting.
