Okay people.... I have a mouse(mice) in the house. It seems I have mice who went to University or something...
I bought the sticky traps first and put them everywhere there was evidence (mouse droppings) of them being there. Mainly my counter tops. I never leave food out and the kitchen is mostly spotless every night. I take the garbage out before bed, so there is nothing for them to eat. 4 days ago I bought mouse poison and the traps with springs and still nothing. I put bread with peanut butter, and cheese and still they avoid all the traps and leave their droppings behind like they're taunting me. What do I do now???????
I've put the mouse traps all over the counter at night where I know they come out, baited it with a little piece of bread and peanut butter, even cheese and no luck yet. I've put them all around the door where they come in and nothing. Like I said, these mice must have University scolarships. LOL Any more suggestions please?????

I had this same problem! We bought a newer home and we were so shocked when we had mice the first winter we were here!
Getting the electronic pest repellers works wonders. They will keep all sorts of pests, rodents, and bugs/spiders away.
I had the same issue with the traps. We found some electronic traps that run with a battery. They electrocute the mouse when it enters. You place a little peanut butter on the inside of the trap and BAM - you will find them inside the next day. The best thing was that you don't have to see the mouse when it is dead. There is a little door that you lift to dispose of the rodent. When one has been caught a green light will flash to let you know. They cost about $12, but they are well worth it and can be used over and over again! I think the combination of these things will help you. There is also a product sold at farm supplies called Bar-Bait. It works diffently than other poisons. The mice will dry up and there won't be any smell in the event that it doesn't get out of the house before it dies.
Good Luck - I HATE mice!!!!!

I really am not sure that your cat brought the mouse to you. I think she brought it into the house to torment it until it died, which is a little think unhungry cats do to satisfy their enjoyment of hunting. I have a former employer like that: they like to torment you, so they let you go and catch you and just mess with you. Unfortunately, for the cat, as for my former employer, that is how she gets her jollies. You probably scared the stuffings out of both the cat and the mouse when you screamed. Truth be told, a trap is as cruel as your cat was going to be, and since you already have the best mousetrap in the cosmos living with you, why would you want to go out an buy another one? Do you prefer technology over nature? You can call the local animal shelter, and see if they have a have-a-heart trap small enough for a mouse, which they would rent to you. Or you can go to Home Depot and for $6 you can get one of those ultrasonic things that you plug in. It won't bother you, and it won't bother your cat. But the sound is unbearable to mice, and the mouse will vacate the premises without your having to do anything. I bought one of these last year for a little roommate, and she moved out right away.

Go to your nearest IFA and pick up some packages of poison called Remik Green. Go home and put them wherever you like. You don't even have to open them, because the mice will tear into them. It won't take long before they're all dead. And no worries about them dying in your walls and smelling up the place, this poison causes them to go outside to die! It would also take any other critters an entire couple of bags before it would harm them, and a small child it would take a lot as well. But the mice just love this stuff despite the fatal side effects. It looks a lot like green dog food. My family used it for years, and since going to college, I haven't even bothered to try anything else it works so well.

ok get both sizes of traps.. if you have the large mice.. (rats) the little traps wont get them.. if you got little mice( mice) the large traps wont get them.. put them on the counter at night.. and in the pan under the stove.. you now the pull out pan.. in the cabinets...i once brought 6 traps the small one and the darn thing set off all of them and did not get caught// then i got a large one and caught the thing.. he was the size of a 8 week old kitten..lol until i did that my kitchen looked like the movie mouse trap

Just use the mouse traps, put a pinch of butter or cheese in the traps and put them under your sink.
Find the hole where the mouse came in and stuff it with steel wool.
plant peppermint or spearment around your house to keep mouse away.
get a tom cat

i bought the plastic traps that look like a bull dog clip, the trigger is right inside so they cant pull away quickly, smear some peanut butter(no bread) or chocolate on the trigger and leave it somewhere out the way, you will have caught it in no time

maybe their droppings are falling from above.
Get a kitten.
They love to catch mice and they are faster than full grown cats.
I didnt even know I had mice,
Yet my kittens have caught 5 that Ive seen in only a couple months.
