It is called fast food because they cook it fast and also , the person is not lazy , he can eat it faster, therefore , if both condition is satisfied than it is called fast food.

Both! They cooked it fast but they served it very slow. So, having not enough of time, we eat it fast.

It is called fast food because picking it up takes no time at all, and eating it takes no time at all, and it is cheap, and it is digested quicker which means you get hungry sooner, which means you go back to the fast food store to get some more.
