Wanted name of artist, renowned for his painting of hair?
One painting I remember was of two red squirrels the other a self-portrait; he had long and curly hair.
Details were in the "Pictorial Knowledge" encyclopaedia approx 60 years ago!

I think you are thinking of Durer. His self portrait has long hair looking like Christ. He was one of the first to drawing for drawings sake .

Yeah it's Albrecht Durer. 1500 self portrait at the Alte Pinakotek in Munich.
The other I don't know.

Spanish painter, Barcelona - Antonio Tapias renowned for using hair from his entire body to produce his artistic works. I went to one of his exhibitions in Barcelona 2004, called the Antoni Tàpies. Retrospectiva, MACBA, Barcelona (solo). Where the majority of his paintings was worked with the hair from his body.
