Does anybody know of a good book forum .(.not th e sort of forum that would be discussing 20 shades of Grey please )

I have been listening to The Chronicles of Carlingford Miss Marjoribanks on radio 4 and think it would be a perfect book to give my daughter for her 17th birthday . I see the first in the series is Salem Chapel . Please let me know what you think of this and is it in the same vein as Miss Marjoribanks . My daughter loves Jane Austen and has just finished The Mysteries of Udolpho,so is this going to grab her do you think ???

My car, a renault laguna, has just had an oi l top up and was going perfectly. I bought a large heavy ladder and strapped it to the roof for a 40 mile drive home . The noise was horrendous although we had tightened it by the end so it was bearable . BUT about 10 miles into the journey the engine started making a clicking tapping noise that has continued and is still there . Is this coincidence ????

My steering Wheel got stuck today and a kind person tried and tried to undo it but no go then we found a friend s father . He broke in to it and took the ignition barrel out and so we started with a screw driver and have got home . Now my question is Must i go to a Renault garage and if so is it a quick job and not too expensive or Could i go to any garage .. I have a very helpful garage very near me

I have a renault laguna 1999 . It has a new battery.When I turn the key there is a single click. All the lights work and the coil light comes on . Is this the starter ? I would like to get it to a garage rather than them come to collect it . If it has a push down a hill will it start so that I can drive the few miles to the garage ,

The printer HP 2280 that I have is the worst printer I have ever had . I want to be able to print family photos. Which printer / scanner do you suggest is fairly cheap and the ink is not too expensive

I would prefer to use oil paints and then perhaps a thick varish? Will this be as lasting ?

When my children were little it was always startright and bar shoes and laceups . Now my daughter is 14 and is wearing converses and pumps but only on special occasions, She need some new shoes and i want to get her good ones but WHERE do I go . There are loads of articles and advice but never the actual shoe PLEASE HELP !!!

I have a central heating pump grundfos 32 40 that is broken . We have taken it of . My husband [ he doesn t live with us and is not near] he wants my 18 year old son to fit the new pump. We took the old pump to a large diy shop and they said they had nothing like it . is this a very unusual pump ?

I am nervous my husband will buy the wrong one and expect us to fit it even if it obviously is not right .

I live in the Czech Republic.

The temperature goes to -15c and sometimes even -20c but that is rare . I cover my special roses and lavender with blankets but this year we have really worked on the garden and I have loads more roses and not enough blankets . Would dead leaves be a good idea ? Or horse manure ( it is not a good to put horse manure on the actual stem ?) Or I could put some hay .

I send them three questions .No answer so I really wanted certain seeds so I ordered and they have taken my money but sent nothing nor have they replied to my emails following the order . Are they a scam ????? I feel rather silly I have to say trusting them when they had not replied to me

My ponies are aloud to walk around part of the yard / garden . I have clipped some elder bushes which are very pretty and the ponies never touch. I would like to have some tubs of flowers either perennials or annuals that are not poisonous and the ponies would not want to eat .

I have a coal fired central heating boiler. It is in an out house at the top of the house . It is a very long house and the hot water never gets to the radoators at the furthest end of the house . I was told that i could have a booster pump about 3/4 of the way down the house as there is a tap and join in the pipes and so can be turned off .The plumber who was going to do this has retired and now a younger plumber has quoted me for changing the pump on the boiler and will charge for this well over1000 pounds plus work . He says that the idea of a second pump is not a good idea and won t work . Please tell me what you think

My son used my strimmer with no oil in the petrol . The Husqvarna repair place tells me it ill cost250 pounds to repair . ie more than a new one . Would I be able to find someone to repair the engine . Are Husqvarna hoping i will buy a new one ?
