Your hair is permanently straightened and those ends have to be cut off. If your not in the mood for a short hair cut, try wearing braids, preferably singles, if you like braids or look good in them. It will help you transition while allowing your hair to grow out naturally.

I haven't had a perm since 2004 and before then I didn't think I could live without it! I have a wonderful hair dresser. What she did was, she ordered me to get my hair down every two weeks it was very important!!! She deep conditioned my hair and clipped my ends a little more than they would usually be cut and that was ok with me because I needed out of the perm! She did this for about 1 year and a half until all the perm was out. Now It feels good wearing my natural hair! It is work because we have summer coming up and everything so braids is a good option but don't over do it with braids either. I use Hairobics..it is a great natural product! God Bless.

Dont perm it you are better off using hot comb cause the chemicals in perms are harsh to our hair but its hard to go natural it took me about 6 months to get my hair to a healthy stage without using perms just use hot combs and flat irons and make sure you use curling wax not to much though. Its good for your hair and if get your ends clips you cant go wrong :) also Dont be bald oil and Doo Grow gease your hair will be down your back before you know it :-)

I've asked my hair stylist about this, one of her suggestions was to just cut my hair, like a boy, and she said it would grow back quickly. I didn't try it tho. That's the one bad thing about perms, once you have it, it's hard to get rid of. I guess you could try to just let it grow without perming it, but the ends would still be permed. so, sorry.

I'm doing the same thing. I plan to press my hair, hot comb, until it reaches a length that I want to wear naturally. Good luck to both of us.
