Italian holiday suggestions - Amalfi Coast & Capri?

Looking for a romantic itinerary/ideas for a beach & summer holiday in Italy - can anyone suggest good towns with great beaches & sights, hotels as well as links to the information?

Thanks!

We just got back last week it was amazing.

Sorrento is nice but I was blown away by Positano and Capri and Ischia.

    Ischia hotels

Positano is great for a couple of days and so is Capri.

Positano is absolutely fantastic for people watching.

You will have a bit more privacy in Capri as the beaches can be more of a hike to get to, but well worth it.

We absolutely adored Capri. I found Capri is more fun to stay a few days. You can even rent a boat for less than 75 euros and cruise around the island. The daytrip could be kind of brutal I would suggest staying over.

Another great website to check things out

Have fun. I would book now as you will not find any availability if you wait more than a few more weeks.

Def Amalfi coast. Capri is too touristy in the summer starting from May. However, Anacapri which is the other side of the island where the locals live (read less tourists) is nice and the view from atop the mountain makes it worthwhile for a day trip. Positano is beautiful.

Positano (Amalfi Coast) was one of the most romantic towns I have ever been to. There wasn't a ton of stuff to do, but stroll and relax. There is a ferry to Capri right on the beach. We took the SITA bus to Amalfi one day. We also stayed in Sorrento and enjoyed it. There was great shopping there.

Yes, Amalfi Coast, but Capri is too crowded these days.

the two are previous alluring.....yet Capri, being Capri and all, the hotels can run on the costly part, it milk the travelers. you may continuously stay on the coast, and merely circulate to Capri. it relatively is the way i could circulate. of direction, staying in a severe-high quality 5 megastar motel on Capri, ain't too shabby the two, if ya have been given the greenbacks to blow.
