Does a Cappuccino have more, less or the same amount of caffeine than a regular brewed coffee?

I live near a convenient store that sells a generic brand of coffee called Beantown. While they a brewed "gourmet blend" (which tastes ok at best), they also have a machine that makes Cappuccinos and hot chocolates, etc. I'm wondering if a Cappuccino (which was quite good) has the same amount of caffeine?

A cappuccino has about 100mg of caffeine while a regular brewed coffee has about 85mg. So there isn't much difference. Unless you drink decaf which only has 3mg.

I have been wondering the same thing. But I'm not wondering about regular Cappuccinos...I'm wondering about the Cappuccinos at gas stations and convenient stores that come out of the machines.

Usually Cappuccino has less caffeine, e.g.

    Starbucks Grande Coffee has 372mg

    Starbucks Cappuccino has only 116mg

A cup of regular coffee has about the same amount of caffeine as a shot of espresso. So if you compare serving to serving (8oz of coffee to 1 oz espresso), the caffeine is the same, but if you are comparing ounce to ounce (8oz coffee to 8oz espresso) there is much more in espresso. As coffee beans are roasted, the caffeine breaks down. As an espresso roast is the darkest roast you can get before the beans turn to charcoal, a lot of the caffeine is gone. There is more caffeine in one light roasted bean than in one espresso bean. However, espresso is a very concentrated beverage, so you are drinking a larger quantity of beans in one serving than you would in one serving of coffee.
