Does anyone remember a TV show from the 70's about a family that ran a zoo? It was sponsored by Kraft.?

There would always be a different recipe given during some of the commercials. I remember one episode where there was a fire and they had to save the animals, including a lion. Help me! This has been driving me nuts for years.

Was it Apple's Way? Or something like that... I do remember it vaguely... I was in junior high... It seemed to be a bit too much like The Walton's, and, at the time, I preferred The Walton's. Hang on, and I'll see if I'm right...

Oh, well.. maybe not... I do remember Apple's Way... and I vaguely recall the zoo family... but they may be two different shows...

    A Daktari link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059977/plotsummary

Hang on... let me look in one more place...

Wait! Is it Daktari??? With Judy the CHimp and Clarence the cross-eyed lion???

Could you be talking about "Born Free"

It was a movie first. Then NBC made a TV series based on the movie.

It was not a zoo, It was an African Wild game reserve. The domesticated lion's name was Elsa. It was based on a true story.

It mentions the TV show under "Other notes"
