open airport?
im out in the country 3 miles away from the city
my nearest nighbor is about half of a city block away
but when I log in my computer a message pop up and said
that I have access to the internet using airport
how do I trace or find out where that wireless airport is coming from

It could be possible that the signal is coming from your neighbor's house. I can pick up a usable signal from someone slightly down and across the street.
Under the right conditions, a wireless signal can reach a good ways away.

Triangulation is the key.
And a scanner that can read in the ranges of 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz
swing the scanners antenna in a circumference around you where the signal become loudest, you sight int that direction. Move 1/2 a block away and do the same. Where the two sights intersect is where your signal is coming from. Most likely its your neighbor... Or Aliens, so maybe swing the antenna upwards too ...

Just let go, it would take an impossible amount of time trying to figure it out. Besides, who cares?....if YOU do, well.
