Won't You Give Our Troops A Chance To Finish The Job. . . . . .Ya Know It Don't Come Easy ?

I'm disgusted by many of my fellow countrymen.

Think about it. We were told for the better part of five years, or longer, by administrations Democrat and Republican, that Saddam was a threat. Bush laid out the case, and Congress passed a joint revolution, authorizing force. We went in and got rid of a dictator and a threat.

Things got tough. Bush made mistakes. And Bush's opponents in government, the media and elsewhere rubbed their hands in glee! All bad news is emphasized; all good news is supressed. In the eyes of the left, America must fail for them to succeed. If you think that's a strong statement, tell me: what could the New York Times, CBS, and many Democrats could do in addition to what they have done already to push this towards failure? Goebbels would be proud.

Now, the troops this country sent are having to wait and see whether they will get funds? Are you kidding me? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Our country sent them on a mission that the Democrats are trying their best to make into a suicide mission. THEY NEED FOR US TO FAIL.

I can't believe this is happening. I really don't. What do the Democrats say to the families of the troops who signed up to defend this country? Why are the Democrats treating our bravest like dog waste?

I am profoundly disgusted, and sad. We do not deserve the fine troops who defend us. We do not deserve the greatness our ancestors worked and fought to give us.

Part of me really, really hopes the Democrats get EVERYTHING they say they want. THAT would be the best punishment for them and their supporters. Unfortunately, I would have to live in that world too.

But I'm not sure I'd have to live in it for long.

My emotion has far, far outpaced my ability to communicate it.

Given the philosophy and actions of the "anti-war" crowd, and their absolute obsession with pettiness in the face of great danger, I truly fear that we are no longer a great country. It's getting harder to respect a people that tolerates this hateful, destructive nonsense.

Absolutely sickening. Do you think that Democrats are all cowards? Yes, many Democrats are saying that we need an exit strategy for Iraq, since the current administration obviously doesn't have one. Only the Republicans are saying 'cut and run' about the Dems. How many of you hot-shots are old enough to remember Viet Nam? There are a lot of lessons to be learned there. The people who wanted to keep our troops fighting there swore that if we left, Communism would take over the world and we would all be living as peasants with Chinese taskmasters within 20 years. Look around. Hasn't happened, has it? I think you vastly overestimate the power of the Islamoterrorists. If they are growing in numbers, it is only because we provide them with such plentiful recruiting material. The actual terrorists are a minority within a minority within Islam. We need to contain them, cut them off from funding, find and kill their leaders. We do not need to take over Iraq, or even win Iraq. There is no victory in Iraq: even if we wipe out the insurgents who are there now, as soon as we're gone, they'll be back. We need to take a year and train another 200,000 troops for them, then pull our troops to Afghanistan and make a REAL effort to dig out Osama bin Laden. Remember Osama Bin Laden? The terrorist who masterminded 9/11? When you recall him, ask yourself one important question: WHY IS THAT MAN STILL BREATHING? Answer: Because Bush went to Iraq before the job was done in Afghanistan. Bush proved in Afghanistan that he doesn't have the guts to actually FINISH a job - he just wants to string it out long enough that he can turn it over to the Democrats, then blame them for not being able to get us out of the mess he made.

Yes, we should let them finish the job, and give them the weapons, and the freedom to use them as they see fit !

The only people who have a clue what is going on in Iraq are the Men on the ground, not the media, not the Communist Party, not the Arm Chair Generals, just the Men with their Boots on the ground !

Cut the Devil Dog's loose, and let them win this thing !!!

Bringing it home is what is happening. Fort Dix NJ...FBI foiled an operation to Kill military personell on the base. 6 Home Based terrorists arrested.....

First, tell us what finishing the job means. We're opposed to allowing an open-ended conflict, with no defined purpose or goal, and no way of measuring when victory will be accomplished.

Let's look at some possible standards of victory, shall we?

- Finding Saddam's weapons of mass destruction (Couldn't be done, as they didn't exist)

-Overthrow of Saddam (Already done)

-Installation of democratically-elected Iraqi government with a constitution (Already done)

-Capture and execution of Saddam (Already done)

-Ending a six hundred year conflict between Islamic factions (Not going to happen, now is it?)

-Stabilizing Iraq (Not going to happen as long as previously mentioned six hundred year conflict continues)

-Getting Iraqi forces to a point where they can manage the conflict (If the US military cannot do it, how can the Iraqi military ever do it?)

Any possible victory I'm missing here? Didn't think so. So that's why we'd rather have the troops safe at home rather than wasting their lives there. Thanks to the incredible blunders and lack of planning of the Bush administration, we are now in a situation we cannot win. Happy?

You are missing the point. Liberals WANT the USA to LOSE. That will punish their nemisis President Bush & inprove their electoral prospects in 08.

I am curious as to why no one talks about the fact that if Iraq is NOT stabilized, Iran will come into Iraq and then we really will be in trouble.
