I'm not that great at cooking and I live on my own. What do I need to make Aloo Gobi, and how do I make it?

Aloo Gobi Recipe

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 large onion, peeled and cut into small pieces
1 bunch fresh coriander, separated into stalks and leaves and roughly chopped
1 small green chilies, chopped into small pieces (or one teaspoon chili powder)
1 large cauliflower, leaves removed and cut evenly into eighths
3 large potatoes, peeled and cut into even pieces
2 cans diced tomatoes
fresh ginger, peeled and grated
fresh garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 teaspoons turmeric
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons garam masala
Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan.
Add the chopped onion and one teaspoon of cumin seeds to the oil. Stir together and cook until onions become creamy, golden, and translucent.
Add chopped coriander stalks, two teaspoons of turmeric, and one teaspoon of salt.
Add chopped chillis (according to taste) Stir tomatoes into onion mixture.
Add ginger and garlic; mix thoroughly.
Add potatoes and cauliflower to the sauce plus a few tablespoons of water (ensuring that the mixture doesn't stick to the saucepan).
Ensure that the potatoes and cauliflower are coated with the curry sauce.
Cover and allow to simmer for twenty minutes (or until potatoes are cooked).
Add two teaspoons of Garam Masala and stir.
Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves on top of the curry.
Turn off the heat, cover, and leave for as long as possible before serving.

Okay, "aloo" is "potatoes" and "gobi" is cauliflower. So, heat up some water on the stove (we use a stir-fry type of bowl), add powdered red pepper to give the mix color, and also add cumin seeds. Then, chop up some potatoes and put them into the pan. Next, put in the cauliflower. Mix the aloo gobi around in the bowl until it's thoroughly cooked (the cauliflower should be soft) and everything is of that reddish color. Then enjoy! It's quite delicious.

learn to cook Aloo Gobi. By the way the answerer above
me has suggested "sabzi kato phir dho le". This is wrong
because all the vitamins etc., are lost if you cut first and
then wash. It should be other way round i.e. wash and then
cut. Best of luck.

The easiest way for a learner is to steam the allo & gobi first.
Then fry chopped onions and add the steamed &chopped alo - gobi and add all the spices u have and salt to taste.
For advanced receipes, go to google and type - Indian receipes, aloo gobi.
U will be flooded with a no. of receipes.

ingredients : Cauliflower a million No. Potatoes 4 Nos. Onion a million No chopped lengthwise. Ginger,Garlic paste a million Tsp. Salt Acc to flavor. Tumeric a million/2 Tsp. Cumin Powder 2 Tsp. Coriander Powder 2 Tsp. crimson Chilli Powder 2 tsp. Garam Masala a million Tsp. Cilantro Few sprigs for Garnishing. Oil a million Tbsp. approach : Seperate the florets from Cauliflower. Wash & drain. cut back Potatoes into Chunks. warmth Oil in a Pan , upload Onions & fry till translucent. upload ginger, garlic Paste, stir, mixture in Potatoes , conceal to prepare dinner. whilst the Potatoes are a million/2 carried out , upload the flowrets, tumeric & salt. conceal to prepare dinner. Open afer a jiffy, upload all the dry powders & mixture. Garnish with Cilantro leaves & Serve warm with Breads, Rice, Rotis or as an component dish.

Sabse pehle aloo aur gobi ko kaat le aur use achi tarah se dho le. uske baad kadai ko gas par rakh de aur usme thoda sa ghee daal de, jab ghee garam ho jaye to ume jeera, ajvain, daal de jab jeera aur ajavain pak jaye to usme namk, haldi, mirch, kali mirch daal kar hila de phir kati hui subji usme daal de aur dhak de. Subji halke sake par rakhe taaki subji jale nahin aut thodi thodi der baad subji ko hilate rahe. Jab aloo aur gobi gal jaye to 5 minute ke liye use tez sake par pakae aur aapki aloo kit sabji tayiyaar.
Dhyan rahe masaale subji aur apne taste ke according hi daale.
