I'm planning to go for a holiday in Philippine Manila this July, can recommend some less expensive hotel?

I would recommend the Swagman Hotel in Manila. I have stayed there in Manila, on three trips to the Philippines. They also have a free shuttle to and from the airport. The restaurant in the hotel is very good. Hotel is not fancy but good and clean. Check it out at http://www.swaggy.com/start.htm It is only 20 minutes from the airport and across the street from the US embassy.

The rate listed on the web site was 2050 pesos. At the current exchange rate that would be 46 US dollars.

Las palmas in Malate. £22 per night and good security. Very noisy as on a main road though. Very central for entertainment and the bay.

You can find a lot of good deals for condos that are being rented on a weekly or daily rates.

Daily rates usually starts at about $40.

Try www.tripadvisor.com, they give you details about the rooms, location and the cost.

Here in Philippines, the lower the cost, expect the worst, there are some (few) exceptions.
