Do it. We went there for our honeymoon in February - it's beautiful. We went across the bay to a smaller island (about 1/2 mile off the cost of St. Thomas) called Water Island and they have an isolated beach there - it's honestly your vision of paradise. On St. Thomas they have a bar at the very top of the mountain (you take a taxi to get to the gondolas that take you to the top) they make an awesome drink there called the Bushwacker - one and you're done (and this is coming from an irish woman). The whole island also has a bunch of great beaches and a lot of pirate history - do it!

Yes, many times. I love it as well as St. John and St. Croix. St. Croix is my favorite because it has more to see and is a quieter, less touristy place. St. Thomas has lots of shopping, restaurants and a huge port for cruise boats. There is lots of traffic and it is noisier. St. John is lovely and has some very nice shops and restaurants. Of course, all three have some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. It's easy to travel between the islands by ferry. You can also go between St. Thomas and St. Croix by seaplane.

    Have fun!

We were just there last week for the 1st time - WE WILL RETURN! If you love the beach, sun, & good drinks, this is the place to visit!

St. Thomas is very busy - lots of people, cruise ship port (so on those days, it's crazy busy), lots of shopping.

Coki Beach was beautiful (once you actually get to the beach - you have to go through a pretty rough area to get there - we recommend having a taxi drop you off, parking is horrible). Personally, I wasn't impressed because of the "neighborhood" that surronds it.

Magens Bay was much cleaner, isolated, and the surrondings were great - it's in a national park - so you have to pay a fee (I think it was $4).

Sapphire Beach was wonderful! great views and snorkeling, and it's free. good parking, nice area.

St. John was my fave. Very laid back, most of the island is a US National Park - so it's very well maintained. Great downtown area, lots of quaint shops, & good restaurants.

Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay are AWESOME! Great views, snorkeling (there's an underwater trail to follow!) All I can say is, WOW!

Yes, been there TONS of times! You'll love it but take the water taxi to St. John. It's beautiful there and much less hectic than St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Yup. If you go, stay at the Frenchman's Reef Marriott and Morningstar Resort. It by far the best place to stay. Fly there. Forget the cruise ships. Wonderful resort, you will be happy you picked it. And go to St. John Island too for a day, on a ferry boat.

Yes, several times. I own a timeshare there [but trying to sell it]. It's a pretty island - small - very hilly - locals drive insanely on left side of the road. LOL

Shopping and beaches are its main draw....if you go, be sure to go to Bluebeard's Castle Resort and dine at the "Room With a View" restaurant...best food I have EVER eaten and I have traveled the world.
