Tomorrow is buy no GAS day. Are you going to try not too ?
you've all made good points, ahh-Mr & Mrs, but believe it will help. and yes, wish we could hold out longer, but so hard to get us all to take a stand on anything, and if the pumps don't need refilled to the brim, next time the refiller comes, it will make a difference, but I'm a baby boomer, we fought and protested for change, we didn't make alot of them, but we were listened to.

dee j. I am disabled so I definetly will not ! If I was on my feet I would not ! PERIOD. I have decided once I am back on my feet, I will walk, run, ride my bicycle and cross country ski whenever possible. I am 46 and am still young enough to pull my protest off ! Cause I am old enough to remember gas wars ! "When I was young I worked at 2 different gas stations. Once I payed 12 cents for a gallon of gas !

I'm with you love. I see some are saying it won't make a difference and that it will only hurt local businesses. WRONG! Just one day of low gas sales means that when the gas truck comes again, He won't be putting as much in the tanks. Local stations will still sell the gas, just not tomorrow. And maybe it won't affect the money the CEO gets but it will surely get their attention. I'd like to see a "Don't buy gas today" at least once a month. That would start to put a crimp in their profits and it would save a bunch of energy. I'm in!

I filled up to the top yesterday. Talk about a kicker! I bought gas a few blocks from my house for $3.25 per gal.(of course), we were in route to my daughters for Mothers Day. We got a mile up the road and the gas was $3.19, I realize that 6 cents isn't that much, but it seemed a lot of difference in the same town. No, I won't buy gas tomorrow. Together we stand divided we fall. We have to believe in something.

We need a bike or take public transportation to work day. Not buying gas for a day wont work since everyone will have to go through the inconvenience of waiting in line and buying the next day.

I won't need gas tomorrow. However no matter who doesn't buy gas tomorrow it isn't going to impact anything (and this don't buy on such and such date e-mail) gets passed around yearly and never has an effect.
If you don't buy it tomorrow you'll buy it the next day. If no one bought it tomorrow twice as many people would buy it the next day. How is this really going to impact prices?

I will buy no gas tomorrow. I only buy gas on the weekend, and not that much, cuz I only drive to the middle school and home once a day, and to WalMart on the weekends, otherwise we walk.

No. Because it's not going to make any difference. The CEO of Exxon will still make a salary of 66,000 dollars/day.
If u really want to make a difference, trade in or sell your gargantuan SUV or pickup truck and buy a fuel efficient car.

AHHHH!!!!
Ok, here is the deal. You will NOT hurt the oil companies by doing this. The gas at the station is already paid for, so you'll only be hurting the station owner and your local economy.
Plus, anything they lose on the 15th, they make up for on the 16th.
Source(s): Sorry D, but if you want to REALLY make a difference, trade in the SUV, start taking public transportation, don't buy plastic containers...do things that WILL make a difference. Do you understand how a boycott works? You stop buying things. Not 'stop buying things' for 1 day. - Anonymous1 decade ago
it never works. You have to get gas sometimes. Doesnt matter if its today or tomorrow. You would have to not buy gas for a month to hurt the oil industry.
