What is some other classical music similar to Carmina Burana by Mozart?

I'm looking for that cool battle scene music type of thing.

Carmina Burana was not written by Mozart, first of all. It was written by Carl Orff.

There are TONS of songs I could give you. I'll only list a couple:

    Danse Macabre - Camille Saint-Saens

    Symphony #9, Movement 2 - Beethoven

Night on Bald Mountain - Mussorgsky

    And for soundtrack/classical-y stuff:

Requiem for a Tower - Howard Shore

First ... to Floydk2001 ... the 1812 Overture was written by Tchaikovsky, not Beethoven.

Did you mean to say you were looking for compositions by Mozart that were similar to Carmina Burana, or did you think that Carmina was written by Mozart?

Mozart's Requiem is a good example. Also Berlioz Requiem, Verdi's Requiem ...

Requiems from the Classical Period are good. For battle music ...

Mussorgsky's "Great Gates of Kiev" from "Pictures at an Exhibition."

    Hope those help!

Gustav Holst- The Planets (especially "Mars")

Anton Bruckner- 8th Symphony (not the whole thing, but there are some very thrilling moments particularly in the 4th movement)

    Verdi- "Dies Irae" from Requiem

1812 Overture, Wellingon's victory. both by Beethoven.

More recent, Victory at Sea. This is from the '50s , and is the theme music from "Victory at sea " a 26 part series about the Navy in WWII.

Symphony Español, by Eduardo Lalo sounds great, dramatic, or Beethoven's 5th, first movement.
