Excessive Bubbles In My Fish Tank?

I got one of those "Top Fin Aqua Scene Desktop" aquariums a couple weeks ago. I rinsed everything out (rinsed... didn't use soap), including all the gravel and decorations I got to put in it. I filled it with water on a Friday and left it at work over the weekend to give the water time to release all the toxins and get to room temperature. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it when I left and it was running normally.

When I came back on Monday there were bubbles flowing out of the top of it - soapy, rainbow looking bubbles. They were piling on top of each other the same way bubbles form in a sink of dishes. I dumped everything and took it home to rinse it once again very thoroughly and brought it back to work to try again. It was fine for a few days, but has now started doing the bubble thing again. I can't for the life of me figure out why it's doing this! I've had one of these aquariums before at home and never had this problem...

do the bubbles smell like soap? sounds like you definitly have something in the tank....run your hand thru the gravel, see if you get an explosion of bubbles. are they hangin at the top of the tank? if they are, change the gravel, try a differant brand from a differant store.

Do you have fish in it now? Betta's will do this after a while. If that is what you have in your tank, it's perfectly normal. Otherwise, it sounds as if you have soap somewhere in the tank. I would suggest cleaning the ENTIRE thing. Rinse the gravel in a strainer with hot water and several times. Make sure the decorations are rinsed the same way and filter and all of the components which come with it.

If that doesn't help, I would either return it for a new one or think someone is screwing with you.

The air pump is what furnish's the air flow to the air stone. Air stones are specially used in freshwater aquariums to aerate the tank. particularly it supplies brings oxygen into the water and brings your aquarium some water stream. Oh and to a pair it provides to the decor. nevertheless in saltwater aquariums its an entire different tale. you ought to never use air stones on your aquariums. lots of the time if a saltwater aquarium makes use of an air stone its basically used to make micro bubbles in a protein skimmer.

This is so weird! I suggest you get a new tank from a different shop if its not too expensive. The shopkeeper may have washed it with soap.
