Does anyone have any ideas why certain things keep reoccuring in our dreams?

Reoccuring themes to me, mean your brain is trying to get your attention. Think about what this person in your dreams represents to you. Write down everything. Is it a family member? Do you feel comfortable with this person? Is it not so much your relationship as the representation of what this person is? Ask yourself, "Why this person"? and then pay attention to your feelings.

Next pay attention to where your brain places you with this person in your dreams. Is this person like "accompanying" you through time? Is this person like a mentor or an avatar or a protector as you move through these different scenarios?

Personally, I have one reoccurring cousin that shows up in my dreams over the years. I have known this cousin longer than anyone in my life and when she is in my dreams I know I am longing for the intimate and personal, close relationship she represents to me. My cousin shows up when I have moved to a new area, or gotten a new job, or when I haven't spent enough time with my closest friends.

Hope this helps. I say, pay attention to the reoccurring dream symbols--to me they always mean a little more in my brain then just the everyday, run-of-the-mill dream material.

Either you are obsessed with this person or this person is disturbing you a lot. If you spend all day picking blueberries, they appear before your eyes when you close them and in your dreams. Are you planning on making blueberry muffins some time soon?
