Nick names or shorter names for Bernadette?
My Husband likes the name Bernadette for a girl (we have two Bernards in our family so it is kind of a family name) but I think the name is a bit too big for a little gal to have. Does anyone know of nicknames or shortened names that Bernadette's use? I don't want to just shoot him down without considering it. Thanks!

I've seen Bernie, Birdie, Bear (from the beginning of name), and Dot (from dette).
You might also choose a very simple, short middle name, and use that as the nickname, or make Bernadette the middle name.

I actually really like Florence. I know a little girl with this name who goes by Flo, and she is the most lovely toddler I've met! It's old-fashioned, but definitely a classic and very beautiful. BQ1: Where I live (England), Bonnie or 'Bonny' is actually a slang word that means 'cute'. Like, if somebody see's a very cute baby then they'll most likely go; 'oh, isn't she/he bonny!'. I don't really mind it. I don't really know what it can be short for, I can only see it as a full name. Bernadette, Bianca, perhaps? Or Belladonna? BQ2: Pearl Elisabeth. Pearl Alexandra. Pearl Minerva. Pearl Lucille. Pearl Vivienne. Helen Juliet. Helen Eloise. Helen Genevieve. Helen Olivia. Helen Liliana. Helen Eleanor. Florence Willow. Florence Matilda. Florence Millicent. Florence Octavia. Florence Isabelle/a. Florence Elnora. Elisabeth Catherine. Elisabeth Philippa. Elisabeth Victoria. Elisabeth Veronica. Elisabeth Elena. Elisabeth Nina. Elisabeth Anna. Elisabeth Marie. Elisabeth Mary. Elisabeth Penelope. :)

I knew a couple people named Bernadette. One we called Naddie, and the other was Birdie. There's always Bernie or Addy as well. Congratulations on your new bundle!
