They like trumpet shaped flowers in bright red and orange, a vine called nightshade, and you can also get hummingbird feeders that you fill with sugar water for them. The site below has a long list of plants that hummingbirds like.
Hummingbirds like to nest in mature trees that are near the boundary between a treed area and an open area. They like willows, and generally nest in shade.
So if you can, plant your hummingbird-attracting flowers near some mature trees, or near willows or moving water if any is available.

Get some hummingbird feeders. WalMart, drugstores and even dollars stores carry them for about $2. each.
You can make your own food to fill the feeders;
**************
4 cups water
1 cup sugar
DO NOT add red food color - it is bad for the birds.
Bring the water and sugar to a boil. Cool.
****************
When it cools, fill feeders and hang them outside on branches that face your windows so you can watch them feed..
Space the feeders far apart because some hummingbirds are territorial and will not share the feeder.
*You can keep the extra liquid in a container and store in the fridge.
I like to make a gallon at a time (which is the recipe above X 4) so that I always have some handy. The feeders need to be refilled twice a week. Wash them with soapy water once a week.

at the beginning are you specific they have not visited the feeder. 2d , do you be attentive to that pink food shade is poison to hummingbirds. Now with that reported do you have the feeder in a position they sense risk-free. additionally without understanding the place you reside i could could desire to declare hummingbirds are migratory and it may desire to be they do no longer look to be present now. Our feeders basically get visited for some moth or 2 out of in line with annum while the birds are in the area.

Yes I plant Zinnia's in my front flower bed and have a feeder hanging in front of the window. I have lots of hummingbirds and butterflies all summer. I also plant a wildflower mix. It is so pretty and fun to watch the birds.

Hummingbirds have a very simple conception of flowers: anything that is red. Including bicycle tail reflectors.

you can hang a hummingbird feeder. Just heat water and sugar (4 parts water to 1 part sugar), cool and fill up a feeder. It may take a little time for them to find it, so be patient.

Either a hummingbird feeder, or a hanging plant called a Fuschia. They love red flowers, esp. trumpet shaped ones, but mainly Fuschia's........just make sure they are red.
