Defraging my computer...?

I have O&O Defrag V8.6 Professional Edition. When I check for errors on my C: drive the test comes back and says there are errors... how do I fix the errors using this program? If you can't help with this program what's a program that I can use that's free? If it's not free I'd still like your suggestions.

Right Click on The Hard Drive, Properties, Tools, Error Checking, Check Disk Options, Choose Both, Click Start, it will tell you that one of them cannot be performed while Windows is running, and it asks you do you want to run it on next boot, choose yes, and Restart the PC, it will check your hard drive very thoroughly, and if any errors are found it will attempt to repair them, Be careful when using any of these type of Programs such as O and O, Some will tell you this and it is a false positive, or a scam to upgrade their software at a cost, the instructions that I have given you are the default technical way to check the hard drive for errors and it is the legitimate way to do so.. Good Luck

Windows Defragment is sufficient. There is no need to spend money for additional defragmenting programs that make wild claims as to performance gains.

To eliminate errors run Windows "check disk"

Run "check disk" check both options and restart.

Run Disk Cleanup then Disk Defragment.

Do not use external programs for this. They often wreck the file system. Use the inbuilt Windows disk check, restart the machine to run it immediately, and defragment tools. Right click the drive and select properties then tools.

    I dont know that software.

I use error doctor 2007 to fix computer errors.

    it works well

    It is not free---$19.95.

But you can do a free scan to figure out the errors in your computer.
