Dark, tarry-like stool what can cause it?
It's been a week seems I started having like gurgling in my stomach, it just keeps growling. I been waking-up every morning and when I wake up I have to go to the bathroom, and every time my stool was dark, runny and kind of tarry looking and it continues during the day too. I know this is really gross but i just want to know what could be causing this? Also, I'm having some nausea, diarreah, and nose bleeds and can't eat because it just makes the pain worst. And stop breastfeeding a week and 1/2 ago. Can this be the cause?

Go to the doctor. You may need to bring in a stool sample. You have internal bleeding if your stools are black.

You should get to the doctor right away. This sounds relatively serious and it is something that you should get taken care of soon. Black stools can be caused by bleeding in your intestinal track or stomach, possibly from an ulcer. But I'm also worried about the nose bleeds and you need to get this figured out so that you can start eating again.

Oh, no. You have an ulcer. The tarry stools are a classic sign for blood from an upper GI bleed (stomach/small intestine). Your symptoms of pain w/ eating is concerning for a gastric/stomach ulcer. This can be really medically scary. I would suggest that you go to the emergency room now. Breast feeding has no relationship w/ the tarry stools. Please skip going to your PCP and go straight to the emergency room. This could be life threatening. Please trust me...

I would have to say you definitely need to go to a doctor. I don't think the stopping breastfeeding would cause this. Your stools need to be checked to make sure there is no blood in them. it could be something minor like ruptured polyps in your colon that may not be cancerous but it could be something more severe. go to the doctor.

This can be a sign of something serious. But it could be as minor as a virus. My recommendation is to go to your primary doctor ASAP. I do not think that stopping BF would be the cause. When I stopped BF my kids this never happened to me.
Good luck

GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW!! Whenever you have a problem that you can't seem to figure out...go see a professional. Your symptoms are not normal and you have a newborn....
I am not trying to scare you, but my best friend died five days after giving birth.....no aparent reason, I wish she had symptoms so she could have had them checked out!!!

This is something you definitely should be talking to your doctor about. He/she will be able to make a diagnosis and help you. We can only guess or suggest what we think is wrong. Please see your doctor ASAP!
