dvd shrink is for " shrinking " an already existing DVD onto a cd or a 4.7 gig dvd ... eg most dvd from shops do NOT fit on a standard 4.7 gig disc, as they are dual layer 8 gig discs

downloaded movies etc are usually avi files

you first need to convert them to VOB files and then burn them

convertxtodvd is the BEST converter ... (i've tried loads of them )

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_d...

and will convert from the general NTSC download format into PAL etc etc

when finished converting, you need to burn the movie to a dvd with a product such as nero
