Could be any cost imaginable without a clue as to what the problem is, if your leaking fluid, could be an easy fix at your local garages price for labour, if its a faulty pump, then you need to source a new or secondhand one, as its an old car your probably gonna go second hand, so the cost is down to your negotiating skills.
If its the rack itself on a N plate your gonna need the whole thing changed, and again your back at the scrapyard haggling.
With power steering theres soo many things that could go wrong, a cost is pretty much wild guessing without a clue as to the problems.

Hi
Not a lot of info here!
If the steering is heavy then check the fluid level. If the level is ok then run the engine with the power steering cap off and watch for any bubbles of air emerging from the fluid. If bubbles appear and there are no leaks then you need a new pump.
Cheers

Worst case? Then consider replacing each and every part of the PAS system. Then add labour and you probably wouldn't be far off £1500or more.
Can you be more specific with the fault & type of car?
When getting replacement parts, consider a breakers yard - the parts from them are used, but a LOT cheaper than new ones, and from my experience in much better condition than what came off my own car! I've got my car fixed 3 times this way and saved about £600.
If you're not happy doing the repairs yourself, get the parts in and take the car to a garage who will only be able to charge you labour. (Don't go to main dealer, they won't fit 2nd hand parts - and will bleed you dry with labout charges!)
Source(s): Just seen your earlier post, RE: heavy when turning. Could be fluid level - check and top up. If not, then pump could be on it's way out. Just remembered, when I broke up a '94 mondeo and kept the engine I sold the PAS pump on ebay for about £30. New pump for my '94 Honda Accord is somewhere in the region of £300 - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

usually on this model the power steering pump leaks you may be able to get the old one reconditioned or you may be able to pick one up at a breakers yard
