The temp sender is probably bad. It is located in the side of the engine head and has only one wire attached. Could also be the gauge.

well it's usually one of three things.

Most likely your temp sensor. Now you will have two temp sensors, one is for the gauge and the other is for the computer.

Easy way to tell, unplug your temp sensor and ground the wire to a good ground. If the gauge goes from cold to hot, then it's your temp sensor.

If not then you either have a wiring problem or a bad instrument cluster.

To check the wiring you will have to back prob the wire that runs from the temp sensor to the instrument cluster. check the resistance in the wire, it should read 0 ohms.

If that checks ok, then replace instrument cluster.

    Hope this helps!

Is you car overheating??/ Check your thermostat. If it is just the indicator on the dash.. it could be a fuse.. .or that guage is broken... but then you would have to replace the whole dash.. maybe a junkyard would have it. If your car hasnt been overheating , I wouldnt invest that much time and money... just to have the guage go up and down.
