What is a USB Key, and how do you transfer data from one hard drive to another with it?
My Computer is blue screen, and the manufacturer is sending me another hard drive, and said that I could use a USB Key to upload data from the old hard drive to the new one, what is a USB key and how do I use it to upload to the new hard drive?

Basically, he is right, but you'll need a working operating system to transfer the files.

If the two are the same model of Laptops, you can take the Hard Drive out of the bad one and insert it into the good one. Transfer the data you want to a flash drive, or external hard drive and then insert the new laptops hard drive back into it and move the files from the flash drive to the new laptop's hard drive. Unless you have everything you need in shared folders on the old laptop, you will have a difficult time getting to all of your data by connecting the two computers.
