do you prefer mesh or canvas grocery totes?

I actually like them both. The canvas bags are good, sturdy, and reliable, and they are more stable on my bicycle, but if the mesh bags are strong they can stretch more and hold more things. It really depends on what you are carrying.

I prefer the canvas since they are sturdier and easier for me to carry. I do not drive when I shop - I shop locally so I usually walk or rarely, take the bus or train. If I used mesh bags, I fear that they would become a bit elongated if I had a lot of weight in the bag.

I think it is up to the individual.

I think canvas for the heavy stuff and mesh for the veggies and fruits that need to have air circulating around them.

I use the cloth bags, but every now and then I still get a plastic bag (if my cloth bags are full), so I save them to use as a bin liner. The city where I live has recycling bins with compartments (like regular plastic trash cans that one puts out for pick-up), so much of the waste is sorted into the compartments and then taken to the curb, without being bagged separately.

Canvas - they're a bit more rigid and small or oddly shaped items are less likely to poke out.

i like the canvas better, the mesh seems to snag and get holes in it for me.

Canvas because they hold up better in my opinion.

best to use - paper as it is a renewable product and the paper can be recycled.
