A rumor I heard about Prilosec and Zantac...I need clarification?
That if you take either of these acid reducers for a prolonged period of time it depleats the marrow in your bones. I ask because I myself have severe acid reflux and take both of these. I take 2 prilosec a day and sometimes I need to take 2 zantac later in the day. I find alternating back and forth works the best for me. If I can't take these I'm going to have to look into getting my esophogus removed, jk. Thanks ahead of time for your input.

That is actually not true. Over time though, it can deplete the intrinsic factor in your gastric juices (that produces vitamin B12), and that will cause anemia. The particular anemia it causes is called pernicious anemia. That, if left untreated, can cause tremors, nerve damage, fatigue, and lethargy.
