Should I turn them in?
I drive everyday 32 miles up a canyon. Beautiful place, full of trees and animals. People are allowed to camp and fish and hunt there, and they do. Most are from out of the area and on the weekends you see 5th wheels everywhere. Some of them are complete slobs, leaving garbage scattered everywhere, when they depart and head back to where ever they come from. I hate the trash, so I stop and clean it up. My question is......... should I write down their license tag numbers and turn them into fish and game when they leave? Some of them leave their campers during the week and come back on the weekends. This happens from the beginning of May until the end of November.
The campers don't always stay. I am in the canyon for 2 hrs a day. One day a camper will be there and the next day it will be gone. Some stay more than the 2 weeks they are allowed, but the trash is never there until they leave. So, if I take pictures of their campers or write down the tag #'s, it will most likely be my word over theirs.
Fish and game set up shop in the canyon today. Hopefully thing will be great. Happy Holiday everyone and thanks for the great answers.

I am a hunter, outdoorsman, camper and nature enthusiast. Too many times a few irresponsible campers/hunters give all the rest of us a bad name. I think you should contact the park ranger, or whoever oversees the area and let them know what you are seeing as well as provide them with the license plate #s of the violators. They will target that area and hopefully write a lot of citations. They will appreciate your tip! You have every right to be a steward of the area you live in. Take pride in the beautiful natural area you live in even if others take it for granted.

Not only report their lisence plate number but take a few pics from the road of the vehicle(s) in question with their mess with the camps in place and after the people have left that way there is proof. You may even recieve a reward. But, don't expect it. If it were me I would also call the local sherrif. In California you can be fined heavily for such an act. Go get them and good luck!
I fish, hunt, hike, camp and use the outdoors for recreation regularly. I'm constantly picking up litter and trash left behind by others. I once picked up five 55 gallon trash bags of spent gun shells from one place.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CLEAN UP AFTER OTHER PEOPLE AND REPORT ABUSERS OF OUR GREATEST OUTDOOR RESOURCES!

Good Question!
It is hard for people to do the right thing in a lot of circumstances and turning people in is something we are ridiculed for all of our lives. The question you have to ask yourself is, Do you like living in or near some one Else's trash and should you always have to clean up after them. The right thing to do would be to turn them in, however it goes against what we have been taught as a society. I will say if you turn them in it will not change anything. People are going to continue to act and live like slobs regardless of what you do. Good luck with what ever you decide, and it is ultimately your decision and your alone. Sorry if this does not help.

Oh heck ya. Fish and Game will love you. It's a shame, when people go camping to experience the outdoors but leave it a complete mess!

Definitely.
They are breaking the law (littering) and need to learn to take that seriously since it makes the world so ugly and is also dangerous to wildlife (plastic bags choke critters and tangle up fish etc in waterways, plastic rings from six packs also choke critters and tangle up on their legs etc.).
Just downright ignorant. Carelessly discarded cigarette butts have caused incredibly destructive wildfires too.
People need to learn to clean up after themselves and respect the environment.

Yes I would turn them in because they are responsible to clean up after themselves.
