waxing a black vehicle?
my car was ordered so it did not sit in the elements for a long period of time. it is a month old and I want to keep it looking great and deep shiny, how long do I wait before applying my first coat of wax?
oh, if it matters it is a dodge nitro

you could have waxed it the first day you got it, this new paint is baked on at the factory and you can wax it immediately, when waxing a black car don't swirl the wax on or you will have swirl marks all through your paint, just go back and forth putting it on and taking it off and use a microfiber cloth to take the wax off.

I haven't owned a new car but on any vehicle I have driven I will look for pollution (streaks), dirt, or water spots on the rocker panels (bottom 3rd of the doors) then I wash and wax. But when it rains and the rain water doesn't bubble up it is time for a wax.

whenever you would like, just make sure that it is a clearcoat wax, not the old kind that actually strip off paint

You can wax it now if you want, once the paint and clearcoat is dried, you can wax it, wash it, polish it, whatever.

wax immediately and thereafter once a month
