I had a dream that I was in a large hotel naked with just a 4x8 towel to cover me_what does it mean???

The hotel was crowded and I even rode the elevator. I have never had a dream like that. I hope someone can tell me what it means.

So you are going about your normal routine - going to work, waiting for the bus, or just walking down the street when you suddenly realize that you are stark naked. Dreaming that you are completely or partially naked is very common.Nudity symbolizes a variety of things depending on your real life situation.

Becoming mortified at the realization that you are walking around naked in public, is often a reflection of your vulnerability or shamefulness. You may be hiding something and are afraid that others can nevertheless see right through you. Metaphorically clothes are a means of concealment. With clothes, you can hide your identity or be someone else. But without them, everything is hanging out for all to see. You are left without any defenses. The dream may telling you that you are trying to be something that you really are not. Or that you are fearful of being ridiculed and disgraced. If you are in a new relationship, you may have some fears or apprehension in revealing your true feelings.

Nudity also symbolizes being caught off guard. Finding yourself naked at work or in a classroom, suggests that you are unprepared for a project at work or school. You may be uninformed in making a well-formed decision. With all eyes on you, you have this fear of having some deed brought to public attention. You fear that people will see through your true self and you will be exposed as a fraud or a phony.

Many times, when you realize that you are naked in your dream, no one else seems to notice. Everyone else in the dream is going about their business without giving a second look at your nakedness. This implies that your fears are unfounded; no one will notice except you. You may be magnifying the situation and making an issue of nothing. On the other hand, such dreams may mean your desire (or failure) to get noticed.

For a small percentage of you, dreaming that you are proud of your nakedness and show no embarrassment or shame, then it symbolizes your unrestricted freedom. You have nothing to hide and are proud of who you are. The dream is about a new sense of honesty, openness, and a carefree nature.

    Elevator

To dream that you are ascending in an elevator, signifies that you will quickly rise to status and wealth. You may have risen to a higher level of consciousness and are looking at the world from an elevated viewpoint. Descending in an elevator, denotes that misfortunes will crush and discourage you. The up and down action of the elevator may represent the ups and downs of your life go emerging out of and submerging into your subconscious.

To dream that the elevator is out of order or that it is not letting you off, symbolizes that your emotions have gotten out of control.

To dream that an elevator is falling out of control, refers to your fears of letting go. You may also be expressing your desire to give up and escape from some demanding situation. If the elevator stops just right before it crashes, then it indicates that if you hang on long enough, everything will turn out all fine in the end.

Dreams are expressed in metaphors. Dreams of being naked in public are common and usually refer to some feeling of being exposed. Perhaps just preceding the dream you revealed something personal to another person, which left you feeling vulnerable. In your dream, you probably didn’t feel that others were looking at you or noticing anything unusual, even as you rode a crowded elevator in the hotel. (That’s the case in most of these dreams.) I’d inquire what it means for you to be in a hotel and if this setting has certain expectations and you feel inadequately “dressed” or prepared for this setting.

Your feelings in the dream and the events of the day BEFORE you had the dream are clues to its meaning. Remember: you are the final authority on the meaning(s) of your dreams.

As a dream symbol it could reflect a need for rest and reflection. if the hotel is luxurious it suggests prosperity and positive decision-making. Whether the hotel in your dream represented a retreat or escapism is for you to determine by examining your current daily reality. Finally, a hotel may refer to a temporary stage in life or be a form of compensation with which the dreamer eases the anxiety and stress experienced during the day.

There is very little significance in being naked in a public place in a dream. It's one of those things, like zipping from place to place, that happens very easily in dreams, so when it does happen, it doesn't tell you much. The more interesting thing is that you were in a hotel. Perhaps you are hoping to go on a trip in the near future.

You're subconsciously afraid of being embarrassed or singled out in a social situation - and it's important to you to fit in, maintain appearances, and be accepted.

You were abducted by aliens and the dream is a cover memory. Or you're just a big time nutter.
