Is it normal for urine to be dark yellow when taking multi-vitamins?

I drink half a gallon of water daily (32 oz. in the morning and again in the afternoon.) so usually I have urine that is very light in color, but whenever I take multi-vitamin supplements my urine is very dark regardless of how much water I drink. What gives?

The darker it is, the more "waste" is being let out of your body. So this means that your body probably doesn't need as many vitamins that you are giving it so it is getting rid of them through your urine.

Most multis have excess, Vit E makes your P more yellow

Try to find a supplement that say 100% RDA no more

(they are a lot cheaper too, mine is about $5 a year)

Dark yellow seems a bit odd to me. Mine is bright yellow when I take vitamins. It's so bright it looks almost fluorescent.

Yes, and yes. You drink more than is absorbed, but thats normal. your body is getting plenty of benifit. Cheers

Make sure theyre 'chelated' for optimal absorption. Liquids are good too. Try platinumnaturals.com for some info on them.

Yes, it is the vitamin B in your mult-vitamin-nothing to fear.
