Is it okay to use "kid flavored" or "for kids" toothpaste and mouthwash?
I look at the labels and they have the same amount of fluoride. Apparently oral companies think that all adults like mint; I'm not a big fan and usually go for the bubble gum or fruity flavored stuff. I've always wondered if it's just as good for me to use though.
Does anyone know?

It is perfectly fine to use the "kid's" toothpaste.
I am a dentist and I have tried a lot of different flavors. I like Crest's new cinnamon flavor, but my all time favorite is Pepsodent. I think it is the cheapest toothpaste you can get, but the flavor tastes a little like root beer -- a slightly minty root beer.
The main thing is that you are brushing your teeth with something.

Yes! I've had patients that could not tolerate the mint because it burned their mouth. You only need toothpaste for the fluoride and flavor. The toothbrush does all the work of getting the plaque off. I've even told some patients to brush with just water and then rinse with a fluoride rinse....any flavor. I had one patient who used soap because he didn't like toothpaste...lol. Not recommended...yuk!

I like that new vanilla mint.....by Crest?
I don't see any harm in using a kid's brand. I do it if I am in a hurry and can't sift through the 500 tubes of toothpaste we have in the bathroom....

Crest Whitening Expressions is good. They have herbal mint, vanilla, cinnamon, bubblegum, citrus, and green tea. Aquafresh Extremem Clean, tastes kinda like oranges too. Good luck!
