What is brigada Eskuela?

The Brigada Eskuela is a nationwide activity where parents and teachers will help in the cleaning of schools and in doing necessary repairs of fixtures or painting of facilities in schools.

Kenoh said the activity could not be reset, as it will be held simultaneously with all other public schools nationwide.

The City Council last Thursday adopted a resolution requesting the City Schools Division to let fire victims stay longer in Canelar Elementary School, Zamboanga East Central School, and the Zamboanga West Central School, designated temporary shelters of the evacuees, or until the 15th of May to provide them ample time to prepare for their relocation to Tulungatung.

Fire victims from the East and West Central schools, represented by William Lim, sought the council's intervention Thursday after the Land and Housing Management task force set April 30 as the deadline for their stay in the evacuation centers.

The City Government has identified the Tulungatung Resettlement Site as the area where qualified Camino Nuevo fire victims would be resettled.

The three public schools and the Camino Nuevo barangay health center have been used as temporary shelters of the five victims since March 23.
