Toy Poodle Names?

I have a black toy poodle. I have never had a purebreed dog before and had no idea about the registered name. I named her Mitzi and I love her name but it isn't good enough to be registered it needs something creative. I have one friend who's poodle's name is Lady Magnolia and they call her Maggie. I need something like that. Any suggestions?

Since your Mitzi is black, why don't you make her registered name:

Miss Mitzi of the Midnight Oasis

I can guarantee no one else will have it! Good luck and enjoy her -- I had my little poodle for over 17 years -- she was the best dog (poodles are a great breed), and I was devastated to lose her ...

I think Mitzi is a cute name and you should just work it into her registered title. For example: Mitzi to the Manor Born or Countess Mitzi von Scamper.

    Lady Mitzi of the Manor

Most breeders register their dogs by using their lineage. So you could use a name that has her father's name combined with hers. for example, Doodle Boy's Baby Mitzi.....I named my dogs for The Chipmonks. They were Sir SIMON Barxelottte, ALVIN'S Coalthief, THEODORE"S Midnight Antics and DAVID'S Barber of Seville. Theodore by the way is a female and I call her Theo. It Means God in ancent greek. Alvin was called Coaljack. Her registered name and her call name can be completely different, so either give her a serious name and use her lineage or just have fun with it like I did. All of their names are also descriptive of their personalities, so it's not as structured as you think.

I once had a black poodle named Mitzi also. How about Marvelous Madame Mitzi?

We have a black toy poodle too! Mom wanted to name her Annie, because her curly hair reminded her of Little Orphan Annie. My sister (who bought her for Mom) asked if she could finish out the name and Mom said okay. Her full name is Princess Annie Marie II.

Maybe you could name your little girl something like "Duchess Mitzi Ann" , but you might have to add a number...we had to because there already was a Princess Annie Marie...

Hmmm. maybe "Mitzi Leigh of_____" and where you're from?

Well, Before my time, (b4 I was born) there was an actress/movie star, of the 50's and 60's primarily, named Mitzi Gaynor. South Pacific was one of her most famous movies.

She was also on Broadway in a play called "Anything Goes". I like using your last name or perhaps a street name, to title ?so-n-so's? anything goes OR anything goes on "castlerock" (street name?) or anything goes at the Jones' (your last name?) then her 'call name' is Mitzi, but there's def a reference.

Use the word Mittens in the name, like "Momma's fur Mittens", then Mitzi will actually make sense. Or you could just use the name of your town, street or favorite place "Mitzi of ___". Or you can name her anything you want and still call her Mitzi.

Do not change her name that is who she is just add a little something to it.

    My Mitzi Poo

    Martini Mitzi

I really have no idea good luck
