password protected?

Bios password or windows password? If it is a BIOS password disconnect power and open up the case and remove the battery for a few seconds replace and put back together and power up the password will be gone. If it is a windows user account password you can try this boot in safe mode and log on to administrator then right click my computer and select manage then select local users and groups then select users then right click on the user name that is locked out and select properties then clear the check in the box that says this account is disabled then apply and OK then reboot normally and you should be good to go. did your boss give you the software for that computer like the windows cd you will need .if not you will have to go compaq web site and search for that computer and reorder a system restore cd for that computer
