I'm 14 and wanna read girl,interrupted even though it's an adult book,should I read it or not?

I read adult books at an early age. You may not be able to "get" everything but then reread it when you are older.

The reason for this book being in the adult section is because of the content.You may be a well read, intelligent young lady, but developmentally not ready for the content. It's a heavy book.It is based on a true story about a girl who suffered from a mental illness disorder and other disturbing issues. I feel it is a good discussion book. If you do read it, you should talk about the issues that you find are disturbing with a trusting adult.

I read it, and don't think it's a bad read for someone your age. I haven't seen the movie, so I can't say anything about that. But, I would read the book before watching the movie.

It's a short book, as well, I read it in a couple of hours.

That book was also made into a movie. I think the movie is nice and very inspiring. I suggest you try to see the movie first since movies are edited. It will help you get a "grasp" of what the book is all about. I watched the movie with my mother and my 8 year old sister.

It's exciting when you get a library card--a free for all to any place you could ever imagine. Read any book that you want to, as long as your parents don't object, but keep in mind you're going to understand a few books later on in life that you just may not get when you're this age. If you were my neice, and she asked me this question, I would say hold off for a few years--wait until you're seventeen. You'll be able to get it better then.

If you feel you want to read it then do. I read a lot of 'adult' books when I was a teenager - i think that doing so did me no harm, but did raise my awareness of the world around me. Enjoy it and dont' worry!

just watch the movie.. i saw it and im fourteen.. its just about these crazy girls taht live ina coo coo crazy ward and stuff and its really not that "bad" your parents should let u unless there super xtra strength strict.
