a survey in Afghanistan doesn't change a damn thing. surveys in America don't even mean anything.

Well, let's see if we can think this through.

First of all, gisjody, don't apologize for me, since it is inappropriate for the ignorant to speak for me. It is obvious you do not know what you are talking about. You believe the Taliban are the good guys? Fine. Why not go to Afghanistan and help them get back what you believe is "rightfully theirs". I'll be there to greet you properly.

You can barely speak for yourself, let alone for those whose business it is to do the things we do in foreign lands, to include military operations, diplomacy, trade and civil relations.

That being said, let's try to determine why Afghan males IN Afghanistan would say such a thing. First of all, it can be said that Afghans are more familiar with the Taliban due to the close proximity and years of living with them.

Second, and this is in addition to the first, Afghan males do not understand NATO personnel, for the opposite reasons listen above, namely unfamiliar with NATO personnel.

Third, and probably the most important, there is NO RISK in claiming that NATO would lose to the Taliban. If it came true, no harm, no foul and there would be little to no retribution from the Taliban. However, on the other hand, if NATO were to defeat the Taliban, the Afghanis KNOW that NATO won't exact revenge (since they are the good guys, duh.)

This is the same concept as being a peace activist in a democratic country. There is no political price to pay for speaking one's mind against how the government is conducting war. Try doing the same thing in Hitler's Germany, Kim Jung Il's north Korea, or the Imam's Iran, and see what happens.

    Think it through

Right will win over EVIL everytime!

If we apoligize for our crimes--Afganistan will accept it.

It wasn't really America. How we let the bushnazis loose I dont know. We're sorry. It was wrong.
