What's wrong with my mouse?

you might be pushing to hard on the scroll bar but if not then it may just be getting old. You can try reinstalling the driver for the mouse too. If anything you can always get a optical with the scroll bar for about $10 bucks.

The gears in the scroll wheel may be worn or out of alignment. You could try taking it apart (screws are on the bottom) and see if that's it. If that's the case, then just replace the mouse.

One more thing, the wheel itself could be dirty. Spray it with canned air to clean the wheel.

open your mouse and try to clean the light sensors of the scroll and the scroll gear too, use some kind of alcohol. it just might be dusty thats all

Unscrew the bottom of the mouse. Take out the little ball and clean it with an eraser. That should work!

You should replace you mouse. Mouse is the frequent hardware that needs a replacement.
