they usually ask you to say something about yourself. since you dont have experience yet, you can tell them about your family, interest and school.

they would ask what you know about customer service or the call center industry. if the account your applying for is sales, they will give you a situation wherein you will sell something. (i.e. how can you sell this pound of meat to a vegetarian?)

they also ask, how you see yourself 5 years from now. or do you think there is a career for you in that industry.

--just talk and talk and sound confident and interesting.

they will check your communication skills through the interview.

--the exam will check your IQ and for them to assess to which acct you will be placed.

    1. Tell something about yourself. Base it on your resume. And also try to read your interviewer, some prefers to have a direct tot he point answer but others want to hear a lot from you.

    2. If you're a product, how would you convince me to buy you! (Usually asked for outbound call centers) just tell them all your assets, like you're trustworthy, industrious, have a good english background etc.

    3. Some interviewer will ask you what is you favorite color and why. These question is asked specially if your interviewer is a personality psychologist.

    4. more difficult non-sense questions:

    a. How would you teach a five year old child how to tie shoes. (Try to research on a children's rhyme. There is.)

    b. How would you sell ice cubes to eskimo? convince the eskimo that your ice cube has different kind of colour lights that can be used a a decor in their house. or it has a sweet flavor can be use as dessert. etc. just be imaginative atleast i gave you some idea.

    c. How wuold you sell used toothbrush? tell the customer that your toothbrush has a lot of benefits like, cleaning carpet, tiles your toenails while taking shower or can also be used in applying hair color.

    Just giving you advise.

    1. don't worry if there are some errors on your grammar, just be confident in answering and there should be no dead air during interview. try to use fillers if you don't know what else to say like: ah, uhmmm, what else? it was at the tip on my tougne but forgot it, but be sure you can give the answer right after using fillers ok!!! (fillers are usually use by call center applicants while thinking what else to say but don't be too obvious) also try to research callcenter terminologies like inbound- outbound, BPOs, etc.

I'm in the industry for a while now. I do final interviews.

What we ask are basic things like, "What made you decide to apply in a call center?", "What do you know about the industry?", "What is the difference between outbound calls and inbound calls?", "What is "BPO?". You need to RESEARCH what the industry is about. A lot of people think that call center agents are just operators. But this is not the case. Different call centers have different needs. Some might be looking for sales agents, some technical support agents and some customer service representatives.

During an interview, what we're basically looking for is someone who can speak the Standard American English, none of those colegiala English, none of those trying hard to speak English. Definitely NO Tagalog words!!! Of course, good grammar is a must. Spontaneity in speaking is required.

A lot of people apply in call centers because they have the idea that it pays a lot and it's a very easy, but most first time applicants do not even research about this industry or about the call center. This is a major turn-off for people like me who interview potential agents. So do your research: ask your friends, go online, talk to present agents.

    Good luck with the jobhunt!

It depends on your location. In Baguio City, I heard the starting rates of call center agents starts at 12thou (without deductions, SSS, Philhealth, etc) while at Metro Manila area, salary usually starts at 18thou. If you are really good, promotion to supervisory position can fetch as high as 35thou plus. But different call centers have promotional incentives (example, plus 10k if you are hired immediately) or some insurance benefits so just choose which suits for your preference

The main thing is correct understanding of american english. 90% of applicants are disqualified because they really don't understand and comprehend questions in american english. Get lucky enough to get past the interview ? Be willing to work 10 hours shifts minimum from 8 pm to 8 am minimum and part of your salary is based on commisions. Do you think P10,000 a month starting pay comes easily ?
