Does anyone have any idea if Kelly Pavlik will get his shot at Tayor?

Pavlik is Taylor's mandatory defense for his belt.. However, it looks like Taylor will abandon the belt to chase bigger money against the likes of Calzaghe or Jones Jr.

Unless.... Pavlik's promoter, the great Bob Arum the Bobfather, makes Taylor an offer he cant refuse.

Everyone just seems to think that Pavlik is going to easily beat Taylor based on what he did against Miranda. And while i too was impressed with Pavlik's win over Miranda, styles make fights, and Taylor is a totally different fighter from Miranda. Miranda is basically just a puncher with little boxing skill and can't fight backing up, as is the case with most aggressive punchers. Taylor has good skills, including a powerful jab, good right hand, and he can box and punch. It's just that in his last 4 fights, 3 of the fighters he faced were very good defensively, Hopkins (twice), Wright, and Spinks, and Kaseem Ouma, even though outweighed, was a very tough fighter with a good chin. I think that Taylor will fight Pavlik next because he knows that the boxing public has been somewhat critical of him for facing Jr. Middleweights in his last two fights, and an impressive win over a hot fighter like Pavlik would restore his credibility in the division. I haven't heard anything yet as far as the fight being made, but i did hear that both sides will sit down and begin negotiations so maybe we'll see it in the near future.

Interesting Question. The way his management has been picking blown up guys from the lighter weights, I'd say Taylor would only fight Pavlik if the Sanctioning Bodies demand it. However, I have read a lot of stories that elude to Taylor moving up to Super Middle. If that decision is supposed to make him sleep easier he's......OUT OF HIS MIND!!!!

He'd be better off fighting Pavlik at 160lbs rather then taking on either Calzaghe or Kessler at 168lbs. Granted, the way his team is directing him, he'd probably take at least 3 tune-up fights at Super before he got in with JC or Kessler.

Pavlik is Taylor's mandatory fight. It comes along with being champion.

Be rule taylor HAS TO defend his title to the #1 contender.

The only way he WONT fight pavlik is if they have a tune up fight and pavlik loses (which isnt likely) or if taylor moves up or down in weight and abandons the belt.

i think taylor will move up in weight unless there is enough money there so who knows.

i dont like the fact that it needs to come down to money but whatever.

I have never seen Taylor in trouble. He didn't get hurt in the fight with Hopkins or Wright. Pavlik is a solid middleweight but Taylor didn't win his titles at no state fair, oh it's true, it's damn true!

He probably won't. Taylor himself said he wants to fight for the most money, and the bout with the most money on the table would be a fight with Joe Calzage.

Taylor will never fight Roy Jones.
